With our given success record and our overall personality, we see ourselves as creative innovators too. We were the first to figure out the overdrive 6-speed successfully. We solved wide-tire imbalance when we put the secondary drive on the right side for the first Right-Side-Drive on a Big Twin! We finessed the shift drum’s map into shift patterns that go forward, back, neutral-first, this way, and that - and with a more positive engagement. These are just some examples. All in all, we make the drivetrain dance for us at our will...for fun.

The people at a BAKER also have a creative spunk. We’re an organization of wandering, unsatisfied minds that are always exploring, questioning, testing, and pondering beyond boundaries and norms. Although you will see passion, determination, talent and discipline in the BAKER culture you will also see a lack of corporate regiment, rules, and mindlessness. We sometimes go way the hell out of our way to keep products domestic. This is not only a quality decision, but it is a personal decision made by the Bert and Lisa the owners. We are allowed to have such integrity, pride, and tenacity. Corporations are incapable of making such subjective calls because the bottom-line and greed always leads. There’s no soul there.

It is our duty to keep the reputation of American manufacturing soaring high. It is our duty to be a strong brand name in this industry WHILE being truly American. That means American design, engineering, and manufacturing using American citizens all along the way! This is good for America and our motorcycling way of life. Will there be such a tradition as we know it when most everything is NOT made here in the USA? The answer is no. It will be something else with no identity. It will essentially be without soul.
