34-Tooth Compensator Sprocket for Twin Cam & M8 Models

BAKER Drivetrain unveils the final solution to the late model compensator problems. The BAKER Drivetrain compensator sprocket is engineered with an annular oil distribution system that scavenges primary oil and pumps it with centrifugal force to all radial and axial thrust surfaces. English translation: This sprocket delivers quiet operation, relentless durability, and refined function to smooth out the inherent power pulsations of the second-generation Twin Cam and M8 motors.

BAKER Drivetrain’s Compensator Kit features:

  • Decreased compensating cam lobe diameter yielded a significant reduction in cam lobe velocities. With the reduction in cam lobe velocities, comes a reduction in wear.
  • Increased radial width of the compensating cam lobes reduced the P.S.I. loading which greatly extended the durability.
  • Seven supportive spokes structurally tie the sprocket ‘ring’ to the sprocket hub.
  • The mass of the sprocket is concentrated towards the center so the ‘flywheel effect’ is minimized which reduces N&V noises during operation and shut down.
  • Heat treated 4140 alloy steel construction.
  • Made in America by Americans.
Benefits:
  • Improved functions
  • Quieter operation
  • Extended durability over the stock configuration

For 2007 to 2010 Big Twin: The customer will need a HD rotor to install the BAKER compensating sprocket. For a 2006 Dyna, the customer will need an HD rotor and stator. BAKER Drivetrain offers the rotor, but the stator must be purchased directly from a local HD dealership (PN 30017-07). For 2011 Big Twin models, if the stock spring cup is welded onto the stock rotor, a new HD rotor will be needed in order to install the BAKER compensating sprocket. HD rotors and stators are available for purchase from BAKER Drivetrain or your local HD dealer.

Inspect the inside of the outer primary for a plastic oil deflector or casted-in oil deflector. The plastic deflector needs to be removed for adequate clearance for the BAKER Compensator Sprocket Kit. If the deflector is casted into the inner primary; this area needs to be ground out using a small air die grinder or equivalent for proper clearance.

Compensate or not to compensate

Could not find a compensator to cope with the power from my 120R engine. So I went for a fixed sprocket worked good for a while. Then I come across Bakers compensator. Great product. Takes the stress of my gearbox and doesn’t jam up on the ramps. Will be buying the M8 version for my other bike next.

Silence!

No longer have the chatter of the stock compensator. Runs smooth and quietly throughout all gears and temperatures are cooler in my primary case. I ride pretty hard… this compensator from Baker puts up and puts out. Folks must be crazy to have eliminated their compensator. This is the solution

Hammering primary

My bikes primary sounded like it had rocks in it. I did a little research and decided on a Baker comp sprocket. Since I installed the Baker comp and Baker primary chain tensioner I've had no more noise coming out of the primary.
