BAKER Drivetrain Holiday Hours

The BAKER crew is gearing up to unplug for the holidays!

We’ll be closed from Wednesday, December 24, through Sunday, January 4, 2026, and reopen on Monday, January 5, at 7 a.m. EST.

That means now’s the time to grab the drivetrain parts, upgrades, and gifts you’ve had your eye on before we shut down the shop for the season. If you need something shipped, sorted, or supported before the break, don’t wait.

Any orders placed during the break will ship the week of January 5, once the crew returns to the shop.

Most importantly, thank you for another great year. From all of us at BAKER, we wish you a happy holiday season and a strong start to the New Year. We’re looking forward to getting back to work and keeping your builds moving in 2026.

Of course, our online store stays open 24/7, 365 days a year, so you can always browse, shop, and tap into drivetrain support anytime, even while we’re off sipping spiked eggnog and wrenching on our builds.

How to Ship a Transmission Without Damage

Shipping a motorcycle transmission is not something to take lightly. These units are heavy, precision-engineered, and easily damaged if they are not packaged correctly. One wrong move during shipping can turn a simple shipment into costly repairs and lost time.

In our latest video, James walks you through a step-by-step process we recommend for packing and shipping transmissions safely. He shares practical, real-world advice based on years of hands-on experience in the drivetrain world.

Whether you are sending a transmission in for a rebuild, a warranty evaluation, an upgrade, or selling it to another rider, this video shows you how to protect your investment from start to finish. You will see how proper packing helps prevent cracked cases, damaged shafts, misaligned components, and failed seals before they ever become a problem.

This is not theory or guesswork. BAKER Drivetrain has shipped and received thousands of transmissions over the years. While our in-house shipments use custom, form-fitted foam packaging designed specifically for secure transit, the techniques James covers reflect the core principles every rider should follow when preparing a transmission for shipping.

If you have ever wondered whether you are packing a transmission the right way, this video will answer that question and save you time, money, and frustration.

Upgrade to the Heavy Duty Throwout Bearing Kit

If you’ve ever dealt with clutch drag, chatter, or premature throwout bearing failure, you know how frustrating—and expensive—those issues can be. That’s exactly why our Heavy Duty Throwout Bearing Kit is more than just another part… it’s an essential upgrade for anyone serious about reliability and performance.

The stock throwout bearing in many Big Twin motorcycles is a known weak point, especially once you’ve added performance upgrades or spend time on the road. Our heavy duty solution drastically improves on the original design with a 97% larger thrust surface and 77% greater static load capacity, which means far less wear and way more durability.

Made right here in the USA and engineered to handle hard use and aggressive riding, this bearing kit replaces failure-prone stock parts and eliminates the headaches that come with them. Whether you’re ripping through twisties, hauling a passenger, or cruising long distances, you’ll want a bearing that’s built to last.

Don’t wait for the failure to happen — this upgrade is a simple, affordable insurance policy for your clutch and transmission. Fitment covers a wide range of 1987–up Harley-Davidson models with cable-actuated clutches, making it a smart choice for most Big Twin builds.
