You back out of your garage by putting your bike in reverse and creeping out with the power of your proud American V-twin. Electric motors are for toys. New for this year we proudly introduce the F6R reverse kit for the 2009-Later factory Cruise Drive 6-speeds. Kit includes the door, side cover, countershaft, reverse gears and shift system, safety solenoid and related hardware. The F6R kit adds a reverse gear to any existing 2006-later factory big twin 6 speed. The system is unlike any other on the market – it works off the stock shift lever. With a simple switch housing and a kick of the shift lever you’re in reverse. It’s that simple. No reaching near hot pipes to put your bike in reverse by hand. With the BAKER reverse system, you’ll be able to safely shift from 1st to reverse and back with no risk of engaging both gears at once. You’ll also find it’s much easier to find neutral than on a stock bike. Our reverse gears are fully heat treated, with diamond ground tooth profiles and cut from gear grade 8620 steel. Our gear ratios were chosen to make it easy for you to maneuver your bike in reverse. The overall 4.98:1 gear ratio in reverse is essentially a creeper gear, which is 45% shorter than the stock 3.34:1 first gear.
The F6R kit comes standard with a black switch housing.

FERRULE STYLE CLUTCH CABLE TECH TIP:
This tip applies to F5R, F6R, F5K, F6K, RSD and Big Dog style clutch cable installations that utilize a split ferrule for cable retention. It is recommended that the inner cable, ferrule and ball ramps are coated liberally with wheel bearing grease upon final installation. This step has been omitted for photo clarity.
After attaching the clutch cable to the clutch lever, be sure that the cable adjuster is fully collapsed. Screw the cable into the side cover. Slide the ball ramp over the exposed inner cable, then the split ferrule over the inner cable end. Rotate the ball ramp fully rearward removing all of the slack from the inner cable and engaging the ferrule into the ball ramp. Install a miniature nylon cable tie on the inner wire directly in FRONT of the ball ramp as far back as possible. Snip the excess tie as short as possible. This will prevent the ferrule from accidentally becoming dislodged during installation and/or clutch adjustment.

Recommended Fluid Level
Picking the right transmission fluid ensures the life and durability of your transmission, that’s why BAKER recommends a fully synthetic GL-5 rated gear weight oil of 75W-140. If a GL-5 rated gear lube is not available, these commonly carried viscosities (weights) will work 75W-90, 75W-140 and 85W-140. BAKER does not recommend the use of Syn3 (20W-50). LIMITED WARRANTY POLICY
BAKER™ transmission assemblies, transmission kits, primaries, and oil pans are guaranteed to the original purchaser to be free of manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase or up to 50,000 miles. BAKER™ clutches, kicker cover kits, belt drives, F6F kit, reverse systems, covers and accessories are guaranteed to the original purchaser to be free of manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase or up to 24,000 miles - whichever occurs first. If the product is found by BAKER™ to be defective, such products will, at the option of BAKER™, be replaced or repaired at cost to BAKER™.
In the event warranty service is required, the original purchaser must call or write BAKER™ immediately with a description of the problem. If it is deemed necessary for BAKER™ to make an evaluation to determine whether the transmission assembly or transmission kit or accessory is defective, the entire transmission assembly, whether originally purchased as an assembly or kit, must be properly packaged and returned prepaid to BAKER™ with a copy of the original invoice of purchase. If after an evaluation has been made by BAKER™ and a defect in materials and/or workmanship is found, BAKER™ will, at BAKER™ option, repair or replace the defective part of the assembly.
WARRANTIES FOR "INSIDER SPECIAL" PRODUCTS
Due to the uniqueness, low price and assembly outside of typical production process of products indicated as Insider Special products, purchasing these Insider Special products include a warranty so to guarantee the original purchaser to be free of manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase or up to 12,000 miles. We have provided extended options for you to purchase below.
RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
Any merchandise returned for any reason (exchange, credit or modification) must be accompanied by a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number or it will be refused. Call BAKER™ to obtain this number prior to returning goods for any reason. There is a 15% re-stocking fee for all returned items. BAKER™ is not liable for any shipping charges.
ADDITIONAL WARRANTY PROVISIONS
NOTE: Limited warranty does not cover labor or other costs or expenses incidental to the repair and or replacement of BAKER™ products.
This warranty does not apply if one or more of the following situations is judged by BAKER™ to be relevant: BAKER™ OEM transmissions; (these are subject to the OEM manufactures warranty only), Improper installation, accident, modification (including but not limited to use of unauthorized parts, transmission oils or lubricants), racing, high performance application, mishandling, misapplication, neglect (including but not limited to improper maintenance), or improper repair.
BAKER™ shall not be liable for any consequential or incidental damages arising out of or in connection with a BAKER™ transmission assembly, transmission kit, component or part. Consequential damages shall include without limitation, loss of use, income or profit, or losses sustained as the result of injury (including death) to any person or loss of or damage to property.
BAKER™ transmissions, transmission kits and accessories are designed exclusively for use in American V-Twin motorcycles. BAKER™ shall have no warranty or liability obligation if BAKER™ parts are used in any other application.
If it is determined that a BAKER™ product has been disassembled during the warranty period for any reason, this limited warranty will no longer apply unless you were instructed to do so by a BAKER Drivetrain technician for diagnostic purposes.

A reverse gear with no compromises, a real 7 th gear shift for reverse operation. Hands won’t leave the handlebar safe and smooth operation. If you want the best, take the Baker.
I do most of the maintenence on my motorcycles but this is a complex installation that should be performed by a professional who knows Harley-Davidson transmissions and has special equipment to do the job. I had my local Harley-Davison shop do the installation and although I think they billed me for more hours than the job should take, it appears that they did the job correctly. I waited until I had 500 plus miles on it before writing this review. Initially, the shifting from first to second and second to first was sometimes less than smooth, it seems to have settled in and is smooth now. The reverse function is very much appreciated and works extraordinarily well. One might argue whether or not it's worth the expense but when you get old enough, you come to appreciate a feature such as this. I would recommend this to anyone who might be considering one.
Wonderful workmanship! The kit came well packaged and everything you need to complete the project is in the box. The installation is explained with pictures. This reverse kit fit my bike like a glove with no alterations needed. The reverse works smoothly and is easy to drop into reverse. I LOVE IT!

This is my second F6R. They work flawlessly and because of them I no longer have to search out ideal parking spaces. Just had the 2nd one installed on my 2017 Limited Low and Lisa, Linda and Buddy were all extremely helpful in making sure everything worked with the new design of the bike.
