Function-Formed 5-Speed Hydraulic Side Covers Are Back! We’ve officially resurrected the original Function-Formed (FF) Hydraulic Side Covers for stock 5-Speed and BAKER transmissions. The Hydraulic Side Covers was one of the first parts in the FF product line. We took away all the ‘fat’ of the standard aftermarket side cover and left the function. The true art of any mechanical part is the function. The parts that make it happen, that do the work and yield the results. We sucked the side cover up to the bearing door as much as possible by utilizing aerospace-derived hydraulic ball plugs, that enabled the bleeder screw and feed line ports to be right next to the gasket surface. We even put the conventional transmission dipstick on a diet. Precision-machined from 6061-T6 billet right here in our Haslett, Michigan, machine shop, these side covers are as strong as they are sleek. The result is the tidiest design possible, yielding the strength necessary to get the job done, and a smooth surface finish to match.

- Machined 6061-T6 Side Covers tuck tighter to the transmission than the stock cable-style side covers
- Compact hydraulic line routing enabling the banjo fitting to be on the front of the transmission
- Compatible with Stock H-D 5 Speeds, BAKER OD6, DD6, DD5 Transmissions or any other transmission that uses a stock equivalent mechanical cable-style side cover
- System designed to offer the same amount of adjustability at the hand control and engagement point as the stock mechanical clutch cable
Technical
- Compactly designed and packaged dipstick sneaks into the side cover assembly. Yields the standard functionality, while maintaining as small a footprint as possible
- Utilizes the stock mechanical center rod assembly. Enabling the adjustment you want at the clutch lever, as well as being compatible with all types of clutches available on the market
- Steel 1.5″ diameter piston rides on high-grade .125″ thick Buna N O-Rings. Delivers the smooth engagement throughout the stroke of the lever, as well as the durability against the transmission fluid and silicone-based brake fluid used in today’s hydraulic clutch systems
- By using 5/32″ diameter stainless steel, aerospace-derived, ball plugs in conjunction with some crafty precision machining, the fluid can be routed to the outside of the piston, while the banjo fitting remains right near the gasket surface

*The BAKER Hydraulic Side Covers will fit the 1993-2006 Touring models with the additional purchase of a Drag Specialties Engine Oil Spout Kit. Notes:
- Installation on 1993-2006 FLH/FLT models requires either the stock cast engine oil spout to be trimmed to clear the bleeder screw or installation of the Drag Specialties Engine Oil Spout Kit.
- Banjo Bolt is 3/8-24 thread (provided by customer) bleeder screw is 1/4-28 thread (included in the kit)
- Designed to work with DOT 5 Brake Fluid
- Designed to work with the stock sized 11/16″ diameter piston clutch lever assembly or an aftermarket equivalent.
- Transmission oil level is checked with the bike on the kick stand, and threading the dipstick into the side cover.

Taking design cues from our ever increasing product family known as Function Formed, we have wrapped the outer design around the functional components found inside. No garnish, or decorations, just the meat and potatoes to make this side cover look as good as it functions.
Our newly designed 28MM piston, in conjunction with supplied mainshaft & countershaft retaining nuts, help alleviate the common fluid transfer issue between the transmission and primary.

All orders not pre-paid will be sent C.O.D. certified check or money order only unless pre-approved for company check acceptance. Any orders from outside the USA must be pre-paid in US funds via wire transfer; a $30 transfer fee will apply. Prices shown are F.O.B. Haslett, MI.
LIMITED WARRANTY POLICY
BAKER™ transmission assemblies and transmission builder 's kits, are guaranteed to the original purchaser to be free of manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase or up to 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first. All other BAKER products are guaranteed to the original purchaser to be free of manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase or up to 24,000 miles, whichever occurs first, except for the following; Warranty does not cover clutch plate wear, throw out bearing failures or mainshaft breakage due to improper clutch nut installation.Electrical components carry a 30-day warranty; cosmetic finishes (chrome plating, hard anodizing, powder coating) are covered for 60 days. Certain promotional products may carry a shorter warranty as specified at the time of purchase. If the product is found by BAKER to be defective, such products will, at the option of BAKER, be replaced or repaired at cost to BAKER.In the event warranty service is required, the original purchaser must call or write BAKER immediately with a description of the problem. If it is deemed necessary for BAKER to make an evaluation to determine whether the transmission assembly or transmission kit or accessory is defective, the entire transmission assembly, whether originally purchased as an assembly or kit, must be properly packaged and returned prepaid to BAKER with a copy of the original purchase invoice. If after evaluation by BAKER a defect in materials and/or workmanship is found, BAKER will, at their option, repair or replace the defective part of the assembly.
RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
Returns are permitted within 30 days of the delivery date. Any merchandise returned for any reason (exchange, credit or modification) must be accompanied by a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number or it will be refused. Call BAKER to obtain this number prior to returning goods for any reason. There is a 15% re-stocking fee for all returned items. BAKER is not liable for any shipping.
ADDITIONAL WARRANTY PROVISIONS
NOTE: Limited warranty does not cover labor or other costs or expenses incidental to the repair and or replacement of BAKER products.This warranty does not apply if one or more of the following situations is judged by BAKER to be relevant: BAKER OEM transmissions ; (these are subject to the OEM manufacturers warranty only), Improper installation , accident, modification (including but not limited to use of unauthorized parts, transmission oils or lubricants), racing, high performance application, mishandling, misapplication, neglect (including but not limited to improper maintenance), or improper repair. BAKER shall not be liable for any consequential or incidental damages arising out of or in connection with a BAKER transmission assembly, transmission kit, component or part. Consequential damages shall include without limitation, loss of use, income or profit, or losses sustained as the result of injury (including death) to any person or loss of or damage to property.BAKER transmissions, transmission kits and accessories are designed exclusively for use in American V-Twin motorcycles. BAKER shall have no warranty or liability obligation if BAKER parts are used in any other application.If it is determined that a BAKER product has been disassembled during the warranty period for any reason, this limited warranty will no longer apply unless you were instructed to do so by a BAKER Drivetrain technician for diagnostic purposes.

I purchased the grudge box and side cover at the same time went to install side cover it hit the bolts for bearring plate purchased cap bolts the side cover still contacted the bolts had to machine relief into cover got it to fit without hitting only to find out it would not work with barnnett scorpion clutch. So can’t really say how good or bad it is because it’s still in its box a wasted 500 dollars

Talk about Quality ! I'm sure diggin getting things Bullet proof with great parts. I just wish I had gone with Baker on the first 6 speed conversion. Sure could have saved me a big chunk a doe.
