It's Bert 'Effin Baker's 60th Birthday!

The BAKER GrudgeBox Overdrive 6-Speed
Our GrudgeBox was designed for big engine applications and engineered with a focus on excessive torque capacity and crisp shifting. The power-robbing nature of the stock helical gears (left, above) were replaced with straight-cut spur gears (right, above) for minimal parasitic losses associated with gear-to-gear torque transfer. Circumferential tooth thickness is 100% thicker than stock and the width is 40% thicker than stock for no excuses on strength and durability. Fits 2006-2017 Dyna, 2007-up Softail & Touring.
Bagger Racing
It’s no small feat to build a bagger that will earn you a place on the podium, the people at Trask are masters at this. They took a 2017 Road Glide, completely rebuilt the engine and installed their turbo system. With their race bike producing 210hp and 190tq after these upgrades they turned to us for a GrudgeBox 6-Speed Overdrive transmission. The wider ratio of the GrudgeBox helps apply all the power in all the right places on the track. We are looking forward to seeing what they’ll do in Daytona next weekend!
Twisted Success Story
See Bert and Lisa Baker tell the story of how BAKER Drivetrain came to be in the first episode of the 2005 Paisano Publications television series V-Twin TV. As usual, Bert holds nothing back!
Shifter Pawl Adjustment & Tricks of the Trade
Adjusting the shifter pawl is standard procedure for setting up any 1980-2000 Big Twin 5-speed transmission. Specifically, this adjustment centers the shift lever "throw" equally between the upshifts and downshifts. In 2000-2001, Harley eliminated the adjustment by replacing the PN 33119-79B eccentric adjusting screw with a fixed centering pin, PN 34978-00.
So here's the trick...if you own a 2000-2006 Softail, 2001-2005 Dyna, or a 2001-2006 Touring model, you can retrofit your stock PN 34978-00 centering pin with an eccentric adjusting screw (PN 33119-79B) and a 7/16"-14 jam nut (PN 7515). This will allow you to dial in your shift throws and make your bike upshift and downshift like greased lightning.
