Disappointed

Transmission would not shift properly, tech support was poor, returned to get repaired, still didn't shift properly. Chrome and black housings all look great, neutral switch works properly, doesn't leak.

Great transmission

I went with the 28 tooth comp sprocket (36 tooth clutch basket) and the optional 2.94 first gear. I just built my motor (1340 Evo with headwork, high-lift cam, 10:1 pistons and Dynatec 2000i ignition), so I am still taking it easy breaking everything in, haven't been past 5th gear yet. But so far, it's amazing. First, the build quality is very nice. It looks and feels sturdy, and the finish on all the parts looks great (I got a black housing with chrome everything else, the standard options). Also, everything fits exactly like it's supposed to. No problems with mounting the starter and no problems with it mating up to the inner primary. Nothing is off center, and the bolt holes are nice and clean, so no need to re-tap or debur anything. As far as operation, with my upgraded clutch (stock basket with a kevlar extra plate kit), I used to have to blip the throttle to get it into neutral when it was running on the stock 5-speed, but on this one, it just goes into neutral pretty solidly and easily when I am not moving, it's not a fight to get there. So far, I haven't hit a single false neutral anywhere, and I don't think I'll ever accidentally shift into neutral between first and second while moving down the road. The only thing I noticed so far, was that third gear seems to run out a little sooner than stock (previous shift point for 4th gear was around 40 mph, but on this, it's closer to 35 mph, at least on my build), but first gear is longer, which is great and all the other shift points seem the same. On the stock, first gear seemed to be way too much and wound out super quick, so a definite improvement. Customer service was great too, and I didn't have to wait very long at all once I ordered.
