Inspect the inside of the outer primary for a plastic oil deflector or casted-in oil deflector. The plastic deflector needs to be removed for adequate clearance for the BAKER Compensator Sprocket Kit. If the deflector is casted into the inner primary; this area needs to be ground out using a small air die grinder or equivalent for proper clearance.

It started off with a filthy taste in my mouth with the gearbox shitting it self, that all changed when I contacted the team at baker who are ever so professional. No hesitations at all to go of there advise and now the compensator is fitted I can totally hand on heart recommend baker.
I had the problem of hard starting, not starting when hot, and the god offel clanking going in to gears and especially first gear. Let me just say all problems have been solved and I am stoked 100% happy with the investment. I performed the work myself according to Bakers Instructions and my manual. All went well and it honestly seems like I am on a totally diffrent bike. It costed me almost $1000 with the compensator, rotor, Gasket Kit, fluids, and torx socket, but it was well worth it at the end. Baker Support was top notch and next to none as well when I had questions. Now if Harly Davidson could only take note of their flawed craftmenship on their compensators and correct their problems they would not have to look like beginners in that area. But as long as Baker is around and maintains their USA MAde Quality parts then it doesnt really matter what Harley Davidson does to their reputation. Dont get me wrong I love my Harley, but they are just not on the same level as Baker Drivetrain when it comes to making good quality compensators.... A+++ for Baker Drivetrain Thank You
Very easy to install if you have the right tools. Prior to install, used to get the dreaded clunk when I'd shut the bike off, now it shuts-off nice and smooth. Bike seems to start a little easier as well!!!
I personally would recommend baker, there’s no more Harley clunk shifting is very smooth I just can’t say enough about this compensator If you were going to change your compensator I highly recommend Baker you will not regret it
Works good but a little noisy
